Subsurface Drip Irrigation System
AQUA JET Subsurface Drip Irrigation System
The Subsurface Drip Irrigation System offered by AQUA JET represents the highest level of engineering achieved in agricultural irrigation. It incorporates all the advantages of surface drip irrigation while adding “invisible engineering” for superior efficiency and extended system lifespan.
Comprehensive System Details
- Installation and Depth: Specially manufactured drip lines are installed 25 cm to 40 cm below the soil surface using professional equipment. Laterals are spaced between 0.7 m and 1.0 m depending on field conditions.
- Technical Specifications: Pipes with diameters of 16 mm, 22 mm, or 25 mm are selected based on field size and water requirements. Emitters are typically spaced every 40 cm with flow rates between 0.7 and 1.6 liters per hour.
- Labor and Protection Advantage: Eliminates the need for seasonal hose laying and removal. Since components remain underground, they are protected from UV radiation, wind, and mechanical surface operations.
- Soil and Plant Health: Water is delivered directly to the root zone, keeping the soil surface dry. This reduces weed growth and minimizes root crown diseases.
- Continuous Operation (Alfalfa Example): Irrigation can continue even while harvested crops dry on the field, reducing the interval between harvests and increasing productivity.
- Ease of Soil Cultivation: Deep plowing is unnecessary. Disc harrows or rotary tillers are sufficient, saving both fuel and time.
Project Impact
This system transforms agriculture into a fully automated and sustainable structure, reducing dependence on manual labor. With underground protection, it functions as a long-term infrastructure investment. In water-scarce regions, it minimizes evaporation loss, ensuring every drop reaches the plant roots directly.
Service Life
Subsurface systems operate reliably for at least 20–25 years thanks to protection from environmental factors.
Up Water Savings
Provides up to 50% water savings compared to flood or sprinkler irrigation. Even twice as efficient as surface drip systems.
Additional Harvests per Season
In crops like alfalfa, enables 1–2 extra cuts per season and up to 30% yield increase per harvest.
